David Walters was licensed to practice law in Texas in 2006. In 2007, he passed the Missouri Bar Examination. He worked in Missouri as a public defender for several years. As a public defender he handled many hundreds of criminal cases from littering and driving while intoxicated to involuntary manslaughter and first degree assault. He gained trial experience and handled many preliminary, bond reduction, and juvenile detention hearings. He also has experience with suppression hearings and writing motions to suppress evidence. Mr. Walters has worked with juveniles facing first time prosecution or violation of their probation terms. He also has experience working with mentally ill clients and has worked with alternative sentencing specialists to place some of these individuals in non-prison environments more suitable to their needs. Mr. Walters now practices law in Travis, Williamson, and Hays Counties.
